Three panelled Huipil woven on a back strap loom. This ceremonial garment is woven new using the old style designs. These types of Huipiles are going to be used for special occasions especially if the lady belongs to the Cofradía (religious brotherhood); they are worn on top of the everyday huipil. The side panels are brocaded with two stripes with geometrical patterns and zigzag forms representing lighting and rhombuses representing planets. The central panel is fully brocaded with the double headed eagle as main design. Symbols of humming birds, planets and zigzag forms can be seen on the huipil as well. All the patterns are woven in. The neckline decoration is hand embroidered representing the sun and the four phases of the moon (half moons). All the colours are chemical dyes. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping!
