Three paneled white ceremonial huipil woven on a back strap loom. The piece is decorated with the feather serpent and zigzag designs on each panel, which (when the huipil is extended) will form the Mayan Cross with the Sun in the center (neck decoration). Cotton and silk threads are used to weave these brocade decorations. The neckline is cut out and decorated with hand embroidered silk thread symbolizing the sun. Two round velvet fabric decorations are sewn on each side, which represents the two phases of the moon. The woven Randa or union band is elaborated with cotton in the upper section; the lower section is woven in a”cruceta” fashion (cross-stitch embroidery) with indigo cotton. Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping!
