Extraordinary two paneled huipil woven on a back strap loom. Animal design can be found; roosters and squirrels finely brocaded with silk and mercerized cotton. In the centre of the huipil the “Rupanplato” design (eye of god) adorns the horizontal section. A brown background is delicately woven with Cuyuscate (natural hand spun brown cotton), which is a material used for ceremonial pieces. These sections are intercepted by multicoloured stripped chequered lines which are common designs on the Comalapa Huipiles; as well as a wide red weft band that decorates the upper section. Notice the four selvedge ends for both panels. The “V”-neckline is formed by the union of the two panels; it is decorated with black velvet ribbon as well as the armholes. Two extra black velvet ribbon roses adorn the neckline symbolizing the moon. All the colours are chemical dyes except for the Cuyuscate thread (natural brown hand spun cotton). Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping!
