Wonderful two paneled Ceremonial Tzute or Utility Cloth woven on a back strap loom. This Tzute is brocaded with red and purple colors and is highlighted with zoomorphic figurines: standing eagles, jaguars, squirrels, “Ixcanel” (corn worm) and the “Cutzaján” (tree). All the patterns are woven in. This Tzute is really a Huipil with out a neck opening, which means that the Texel (Main Cofrade’s wife) used the piece as a head cloth. Notice the four selvedge ends. The red color is dyed with alycerin dye, one of the first chemical dyes that were used during the beginning of the century. The purple color is a chemical dye too.  Please notice that the price includes FREE USPS Shipping!
